LEVERS
- Medicine develops new therapies and diagnostics based on nanotechnologies;
- New micro-laboratories, micro-cameras and other sensors incorporated by the body are used to detect predispositions to some diseases;
- Nanoparticles containing active molecules are fixed to cancer cells;
- Invention of micro-machines that are implanted in the body to administer the right dose of a medicament in the right place, which thereby reduces excess consumption and secondary effects;
- Development of new brain-machine interfaces and adaptive and intelligent prostheses;
- 'Nano' processors that are 1,000 times more powerful that are inserted into objects, spaces or even the body;
- Nanos make invisible technologies omnipresent in the fields of energy (fuel cells, hydrogen batteries), of transport (thermal insulation, lighting, engines), of the military (lighter uniforms, dopants, micro-sensors and surveillance cameras, automation);
- Nanotechnology product labelling and clarity as to their composition, use and effects;
- The 'NBIC' will allow 'human improvement': increased physical and mental abilities, disease resistance, life expectancy (so much so that some gurus imagine that we will become immortal).
