  • Massive extension of virtual worlds due to the progress of bandwidth and to a coupling with peer to peer technologies, on the Croquet model: a processing system created as a three-dimensional and collaborative virtual environment, having a powerful programming language (Squeak, originating from Smalltalk) and open to the creation of many applications.
  • Possible interconnection and convergence of multiple virtual worlds: avatars move between a world and another through a portal;
  • Peer to peer geography: coexistence of worlds shared between machines and users, interoperability, worlds governed by flux and ubiquity rather than fixity and the metaphor of physical territory;
  • Shared standard allowing web surfers to browse between worlds through the use of only one browser: rehabilitation of the VRML, «web3D» multi-user combined with very high debit and high quality graphic maps;
  • Interconnection between artificial intelligence and virtual reality: robots, independent «knowledge base», intelligent chatting;
