HANSON

Economist

R. Hanson teaches Economics at George Mason University in Virgina. He is trained in physics, computing, and philosophy, and is also interested in technologies of the future and sociology. As a creative and critical thinker, he defends new concepts such as the Ideas Market, and is studying the long term impact of new scientific activities, such as brain simulation.

“The greatest technological and economic progress in the years to come will be due to specialization and interdependence, as they have been for several decades or even centuries now.

We’re maybe uncomfortable with this idea, but we have to get used to it, because it’s the key to all our other dreams and their fulfilment in the future.”
